Holiday Shopping in Midtown with Express
6th Avenue (Midtown), New York City
I think Christmas time has to be my favourite in New York City. There’s one things that Americans really know how to do, and that’s decorate. Everywhere you look there’s different types of Christmas decorations, set of twinkling lights, or Christmas band playing carols. New Yorkers really do get into the festivities of the holidays, and I just love it.
Cheralee and I decided to take a trip uptown to Midtown to seek out some festive cheer and of course, go shopping. We wandered by the Rockefeller tree with everyone ice skating, by Saks Fifth Avenue to see their festive Christmas windows, stopped at the Lotte Palace Hotel (which has to be THE most amazing tree in NYC), and then to Radio City Music Hall in hopes to get a glimpse of the Rockettes. Of course we didn’t, but we stumbled across these famous big red baubles that we had been trying to find for a while. All in all, it was a very successful day!
On our festive day out, I decided to wear an outfit from Express. As much as I love this time of the year, it’s also bitterly cold in New York, so bundling up is a must. Luckily for me, this was easy thanks to my super cosy scarf and beanie, which I layered on top of a simple beige sweater, finished by this amazing white cocoon coat. I’m all about wearing white in winter (I get so sick of everyone wearing black!), and while it might be a tad risqué, I think it’s worth the risk! Express has a great range of cosy winter outfits, as well as great holidays looks to keep you sorted all through the cold season!
